CNBC interviewed 2 home builders who said America could get more homes built faster if Congress changed the law making it easier to hire foreign guest workers. Congress issues too few visas and it's a slow process. They've tried to get US citizens for the jobs but can't find enough. Most young people especially, aren't interested in construction.
I have a 61 year old brother who's been a hardware store manager for decades in OK and Arkansas. He's complained for the past 25 years that American employees, especially the young ones, don't want to even sweep the floor with a broom. They show no initiative to do things like refill empty shelves, etc. Even after he tells them what needs to be done, they still take forever to get around to it.
