Daniel's point about defense spending is so laughably comedic. "[Cato] excludes veterans’ benefits and many subsidy programs, despite the fact that immigrants both serve in the U.S. military and receive these benefits." According to Daniel, because immigrants receive veteran's benefits, they are a burden. If that's the case, we should deport all of our third-generation veterans, too! He always manages to blame the immigrants, rather than the benefits system. What a unique and precious perspective.

That was Caplan’s retort against Di Martini in the debate they did
