There's really no point in acting like someone who entered the country without permission, or stayed longer than they had permission to, isn't breaking the law. When Cato or anyone else quietly moves the bar to "these are people who haven't committed any violent crimes," they make people who want immigration laws enforced feel like they're being dealt with dishonestly. This is a poor, disengenous article. If you want to sway people, you have to be honest about their objections.
