It’s funny. Waaay back when I was in college in the the early 2000s I did kind of a meta study reviewing a couple of papers of what illegal immigration was doing to the tax base of a county in a midwestern state. Said county had a meatpacking plant and many illegal immigrants worked there. I compared the tax receipts of the that county and the surrounding counties which had no meatpacking plant…thus not many illegals immigrants. Guess which county had the highest tax revenue?
