Extremely confusing article. You raise more questions than you answer. Here are a few:

“Many” illegals committed homicide in other countries, somehow escaped from prison and came to the US, were apprehended in the US and imprisoned… and that’s not a problem? It’s also not true unless those countries simply let them go to avoid the expense of jailing them. Please clarify.

7% of the Texas populace, the entire illegal populace, is responsible for 5% of all homicide convictions in 2022 alone. That’s convictions, not murders (most murders go unsolved), and doesn’t include other violent crimes that are far more common. I guess it’s not quite as bad as 12% of the nation’s populace perpetrating 56% of the violent crime* bad so I guess it's fine. Except we have to deal with the black crime problem because they are citizens. These are illegals. Please clarify.

*per 2019 FBI national crime stats

So let’s get this straight. 13,099 murderers with homicide records in their home countries came over the border and are serving terms in US state or federal prisons? That is odd. Why, pray tell if that is the case, is the US imprisoning people it should simply send back to their home countries (regardless of "repatriation agreements") - is this the no backsies rule in effect? You don't dump your murderers onto us and expect us to pay for their prison stays in our overflowing prisons (and then allow them to stay after their sentence is up). If that is the law, it must be changed. Or wait, did they commit homicide after they came over the border, and are now in prison? Or is it how it’s been reported and they have homicide records and they were let in anyway? Sounds like a dangerous, serious and expensive mess.

You didn't win any arguments with this piece but it does achieve typical glib liberal talking point trash status. Great job on your deep dive.

Almost 100% of crimes that are committed by illegal aliens are preventable. Full stop.

What you wrote: "they account for *JUST* 5 percent of all homicide convictions" tells everything we need to know about your view of "us" - the only acceptable number for homicide convictions by illegal immigrants is 0% or something close to it. You can take your "explanation" of statistics for the plebes and, frankly, shove it where sun doesn't shine.

Or more devious - as we have 300 million people in the USA and it is said the illegal population is 11 million or so, then the illegals are 11 million divided by 311 million or 3.5 % of the population. If this the case, then 3.5% of the population committing 5% of the homicide convictions make this a very dangerous segment of the population.

“From 2013-2022, there were 472 convictions of illegal immigrants for homicide in Texas out of a total of almost 8,000 total homicide convictions.” I’d like you to present this argument to the 472 families impacted by these murderers. Make sure you cite lots of statistics to them.

This is 5.9 % of the homicides committed in Texas. Yet we are told the number of illegals as a percentage of the population is less than this percent, making this group very dangerous;

Every American who is raped, and the family and friends of people killed by an illegal immigrant should hold people like you accountable.

Thanks Alex, sorry to see so many negative about this article from our fellow "Migrants" to the United States. The vast majority of Americans are descended from Migrants, some legal, some not. Also Data overwhelmingly shows that recent Immigrants, documented or not, are LESS likely to commit crimes than US Citizens.

Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for the facts that so many people deny.

So what? The modern state of Israel was founded by migrants. Does that mean they have to let in Palestinians?

"The third untrue claim is that these 13,099 migrants convicted of homicide committed their crimes recently. Those migrant criminal convictions go back over 40 years or more."

This is supposed to make us feel better? We are clearly drawing from the left side distribution, including old ex-cons sent north to go be someone else's problem.

So you’re saying allowing illegals to remain the state lead to 5% more murders. That sounds bad!

Excellent article. Any data on how many there are of the non-detained migrants who served their sentences and were released from prison because they are from countries without a repatriation agreement?

Your link illustrating the "free to roam" claim says:

"The document doesn’t make clear how many of the murderers are currently incarcerated in federal, state and local facilities or how many of them are no longer in custody."

It seems like it says the same thing you do.
